A Time to Kick Back and Relax

Monday, September 6th, 2021 is a day to kick back and relax.  A day to enjoy the long weekend, take in the parades, eat hot dogs and hamburgers from the barbeque and watch the fireworks at the end of the day.  This stress-free day focuses on total relaxation with family and friends, and what do we call such a day?  We call it “Labor Day”.

We as adults know what Labor Day means to working Canadians, but our children need to understand why Labor Day is more than just a day off work for Mommy and Daddy.  Let us teach our young children about Labor Day.  Enclosed are some ideas you can do with your students at your Childcare Centre:

  • Have a story time about “Going to Work”.  Let the children talk about what they think working is.  Have them discuss what is Mommy’s and Daddy’s job.
  • Have the children draw a “What I want to be when I grow up” and post them around the room.
  • Bake a plate of cookies and have the children give them to all the workers who come into your building as a way to say “Thank You”
  • Give the children a “work” chore they must do at home, such as helping with the dishes, picking up the dirty clothes for the laundry, or feeding the pets.  They will learn responsibility while experiencing a sense of accomplishment.

These are some small ideas you can incorporate into your lessons with the children and if you want some bigger ideas you can incorporate into your business, then check out our website at www.esikidz.com childcare software.  We can lessen your workday with our automatic tuition calculation, our automatic CCOF generated reports and our seamless enrollment processes.  If you would like a 30-day free trial and an in-depth orientation on the system, please email adele.fussi@esihome-tech.com or call us at 778-552-7133 and we would be pleased to book you in for a video demonstration.
